Ready Mixed Concrete from Devon Concrete Pumping
Concrete is the fundamental component of the majority of new construction projects across the world. Ready-mixed concrete is delivered in instantly recognisable trucks, that use a rotating drum to keep the concrete from setting. The ready-mixed concrete is actually put together at a plant. The concrete trucks are often incorrectly called cement mixers or cement trucks.
Ready-mixed concrete supplied by BRMCA members is made at one of around 1300 plants across the country. Because of the number of mixing plants, we can ensure that the delviery distance is kept short (an average of just 6 miles). This reduces fuel consumption (good both economically and environmentally) and ensures that the concrete is 'fresh',
Once at the site, the concrete is poured or pumped into the formwork with minimal waste, particularly when compared with hand mixing concrete. Using of Modern Methods of Construction (MMC) techniques (for example; tunnel form, insulating concrete formwork and post tensioned frame elements) gives fast and cost effective construction.
Ready mixed concrete is economical for amounts over one cubic metre. Mixing each delivery in one go, we can guarantee uniform strength and consistency, ensuring that the concrete all dries to the same colour. The only drawback to ready-mix is that it may start to set before it can all be used.
