Devon Concrete Pumping, Mortar and Screeds.
Mortars and concrete have been the fundamental components of most construction projects throughout the western world since the 1950s.
Mortars and Screeds, what are they?
For everyday definition purposes, a concrete is a cementitious (cement based) building material containing aggregates (lumpy bits) with dimensions greater than 5 mm (bigger than a fifth of an inch). Whereas mortar is a cementitious (cement based) material containing aggregates (lumpy bits) with dimensions less than 5 mm (smaller than a fifth of an inch).
Devon Concrete Pumping offer professional pumping services for
both concretes and mortars.
Mortars are used throughout the construction industry for a variety of purposes, including brick-laying, bedding of small concrete component such as ridge tiles, and for the sealing of certain types of paving.
Screeding is a method of building a well profiled bedding layer onto which flag stones, bricks, ceramic tiles or any other pavings can be directly laid onto with no further levelling. A screeded bed is usually approximately 5-10mm deep, and the pavings then compacted down to the correct level.
